Miami "Survivor" winner returning for show's 50th season

Miami's own Dee Valladares, who won Season 45 of "Survivor" in 2023, was announced as a cast member of the show's highly anticipated 50th season in 2026.
Why it matters: The wilderness survival competition series — considered the longest-running reality TV show ever — can draw over 4 million viewers per episode, often propelling cast members to cult stardom.
The latest: For its 50th season, dubbed "Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans," CBS solicited show ideas from fans and made the rare move of announcing its cast members in advance.
- Valladares joins a star-studded cast of fan favorites spanning the show's 25-year history. (There are a total of four contestants from Florida).
- The all-stars will compete for a $1 million prize.
