Miami Beach to revamp historic South Beach hotels with new funding

Miami Beach wants to help zhuzh up some of its Art Deco hotels by funding new pastel paint jobs for historic South Beach properties.

Driving the news: The program will offer contributing historic hotels matching grants up to $20,000 to refresh their exteriors with pastel colors that personify the Art Deco style.

The program, a partnership with famed British designer Barbara Hulanicki, has $88,000 in funding to spread among a minimum of four properties.
The historic hotel must be located between Fifth and 23rd Street, along Ocean Drive, Collins Avenue or Washington Avenue.
