They bought tickets to Copa America. Now they're suing

Catch up fast: The Argentina-Colombia match was delayed over an hour after fans overwhelmed Hard Rock security.

• To prevent a stampede, stadium officials allowed a flood of fans – with or without tickets – to enter the match.
• They later shut the gates after the stadium reached capacity.

The latest: Two lawsuits were filed last week by fans who said they purchased tickets but were not able to attend the match, ESPN reported.

• The fans – who spent upwards of $1,000 per ticket – are suing Hard Rock and tournament organizers CONMEBOL for over $100,000 in damages per lawsuit.

What they're saying: Jacqueline Martinez purchased four tickets for a total of $4,395, per ESPN.

• "Despite having a valid ticket, [Martinez] was denied entry to the sporting event due to a large number of individuals rushing the arena and entering unlawfully, which resulted in overcrowding and safety concerns," her lawsuit reads.

Friction point: CONMEBOL has blamed Hard Rock for overlooking its recommendations for the match, while stadium officials have said they "exceeded" security recommendations.
