Under Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel, Miami has been winning in style, on and off the field.
Why it matters: McDaniel, a second-year play caller who has coached up the Dolphins to reach the top seed in their conference, has become a fan favorite for his quirky personality and enthusiasm for the game.
- But he's also slowly becoming a fashion icon in the NFL.
The look: From his gilded sunglasses to his coveted kicks, McDaniel likes to put his best foot forward on game days.
- His signature style calls for rolling up his sweatpants to create a capri look. Add in some aviator shades and a big-face watch, and you're almost there.
- He might throw on some rare Off-White Nike Air Force 1s or Adidas Yeezys. Not to mention a Breitling watch worth $19,000 new, per the Sun Sentinel.
- And if it's chilly out, he does what every Floridian does: Turns up in a sherpa coat, reminiscent of Joe Namath.
What they're saying: "This is not your typical head coach attire," Amazon Prime commentator Kirk Herbstreit said during a recent Dolphins broadcast.
- The Sentinel's Dave Hyde called McDaniel the "best-dressed coach in sports."
- Heat coach Erik Spoelstra even dressed up like him for Halloween.
What's next: The Dolphins, who are 9–3 after blowing out the Commanders over the weekend, are hoping to win their division for the first time since 2008 and make some noise in the playoffs.
