City Council's meeting last week was a quick one.

Catch up quick: The Council will now decide on the 1% lodging tax increase July 9.

• That's because it's tied to the Von Braun Center's $200-million expansion project also being funded by the latest Tax Increment Financing district, Council President Jennie Robinson said, which the county has yet to vote on.
• The council will consider the tax and the TIF all at once, she said.

Zoom in: The parking ordinance changes, which are aimed at clearing up confusion over which lots are private and public and when they charge for parking, were pulled from the agenda as well, but not immediately rescheduled.

• More than 47 acres along Swancott Road was rezoned to Residence 2 for a new single-family home development.
• A $2.5-million contract was approved to install turf fields and other related work at the Merrimack Soccer Complex, with City Administrator John Hamilton saying the high rate of use makes natural grass difficult to keep up at the facility.
• The city also approved an agreement with the FBI to strengthen coordination and response to explosive-related incidents, providing for mutual aid, communication and investigative support per the city.
