Huntsville City Council is back in action tonight with some big development moves on the agenda.
Why it matters: Decisions tonight could impact development projects across the city, including the latest Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District with major plans for the Von Braun Center.

The council will cast its final vote on its ninth TIF, paving the way for big downtown development projects.
- The marquee project is a $200-million expansion to the Von Braun Center's North Hall, with four smaller, $5-million projects planned, too.

π ISC Pizza Kitchen
The major expansion project at the Ice Sports Center is getting even bigger, with a $721,140 change order on tonight's agenda which would bring the total project cost from $44.6 million to just over $45.5 million.
- The big add is a $651,656 line item for "Expansion of Concession Areas and addition of a Pizza Kitchen," per information with the agenda.

π Next round of annexations
Two annexations will be introduced: one two-acre lot at the corner of Capshaw Road and Wall Triana Highway, and an almost 25-acre lot on the north side of University Drive and east of Providence Main Street.
- It's the big lot directly across from University Kia, between Carmax and Landers McLarty Nissan.
- They're up for introduction only, not a vote, today.

βοΈ Greenbrier rezoning
A public hearing will be held for the rezoning of almost 100 acres between Greenbrier Parkway and Huntsville-Brownsferry Road, from Highway Business to Residence 2.
π Infrastructure moves
Just under $5 million in street resurfacing projects is up for a vote, to fund Phase 2 of the city's Fiscal Year 2026 Resurfacing Projects.
- An almost-$200,000 contract will test concrete, retaining walls and more as part of the Pedestrian Access Redevelopment Corridor (PARC) project's work at Pinhook Creek.
- At the city's Garage M on Church Street, a $135,000 contract is up for a decision tonight that would fund engineering services for a range of concrete, steel and other repairs.
