Zoom in: CEO Butch Roberts shared the latest data at the airport's Board of Directors meeting Tuesday morning, saying, "Our traffic is growing ... and the airlines are noticing."
By the numbers: The 149,114 total passengers in September represents a 7.5% jump over September 2024, with the total number of seats up 8.3% to a total of 177,858.
August's 153,629 passengers marked a 7.9% increase over August 2024, and the total 188,118 seats was a 15.1% increase.
Year-to-date, the nearly 1.3 million passengers to enplane or deplane at HSV in 2025 is a 6.9% increase over 2024, the airport's busiest year yet.
Zoom out: On the operations side, Roberts showed that in the last fiscal year, the airport completed eight projects totaling $61.1 million.
That includes the $14-million project to update escalators and elevators on the concourse, $9.8 million to renovate a taxiway and $5.7 million to renovate and expand concourse restrooms.
