Hydrate Medical is a “professional hydration clinic” offering IV drips and other treatments with targeted health benefits.
The deets: Drips start at $99 for the popular “Myers Cocktail” and go up to $179. They also offer vitamin add-ons and oxygen therapy.
- There are seven Hydrate Medical locations across the Carolinas, including the flagship location on East Boulevard in Charlotte.
The story: I got an IV drip and, despite my fear of needles, lived to tell the tale. Here are five key takeaways:
IV drips should be administered by pros
What you need to know: Only a select group of healthcare providers are allowed to give IV infusions under current regulations.
At Hydrate Medical, all IV drips are administered by registered nurses and EMTs, and locations are led by an Emergency Physician and Board Certified Nurse Practitioner.
Drips take about 45 minutes

Okay, but: It’s perfect for some relaxing me-time. The treatment rooms are furnished with comfy couches, large TVs and mini-fridges with snacks.
- You can use your drip time to catch up on a show, get some work done or do a little meditation.
It was easier than I expected.

Personally, I don’t *love* the feeling of getting blood drawn and was pretty nervous about the IV drip. However, aside from some pinching and pressure at the injection site, it was pretty comfortable.
You don’t have to be hungover to get a drip

Though hangovers are a popular reason people get IV drips, Hydrate Medical also offers a full lineup of drips with other targeted health benefits, including:
- Jet lag: A recovery boosting, re-energizing drip.
- Beauty: Filled with antioxidants and glutathione to improve skin health and complexion.
- Athlete: Boost muscle recovery with vitamins and amino acids.
- Wellness: Packed with Vitamin C and Zinc for your immune system.
Take note: I got the Super Immune Boost drip, which was recommended because of my allergy symptoms that day.
