After Sarah Taylor Brigham of Sycamore Brewing spoke about balancing her hectic life as a new mother and successful entrepreneur at our June Fireside Chat, we got curious about how other brewery owners utilize technology in their lives.
Thanks to AT&T GigaPower’s fiberoptic 1GB internet, using technology is a fast and convenient process for both businesses’ and owners’ day-to-day needs. AT&T Business Fiber has aggressively expanded its coverage over the past few years, with over 23,700 incremental business customer locations in North Carolina.

Sarah Taylor Brigham: Sycamore Brewing
- Google Calendar: “If it’s not in my Google Calendar, it does not exist. It’s as simple as that.”
- Rebranding cans: The brewing startup uses a company out of Florida for all graphic design needs. Sarah and her husband, Justin Brigham, use video conferencing to bring their design ideas to life.
- Texting: “At 4 p.m. every day I turn the business off. That’s my time to spend with my child. But if there’s truly an emergency, texting is the way to reach me.”
- Instagram: The company has garnered a lot of attention and business via Instagram. A month after their incredibly successful grand opening, the brewery’s Insta audience grew quickly, allowing them to share Sycamore’s products and events effectively.

Townes Mozer: Lenny Boy Brewing Co.
Townes explains that he’s not too tech savvy himself, but the basic technologies available make managing a business much easier and time efficient. He uses his cell phone and email religiously to keep business and personal communication at his fingertips, and inventory and sale tracking systems to help manage the brewery.

John Marrino: The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery
- Slack: “Our entire brewery uses Slack to communicate and keep track of news, events, ideas, etc. We highly recommend it for any organization. It has several practical and fun features.”
- BCycle: “We love cycling – and cyclists! – at OMB, and Charlotte BCycle is amazing. Several of our Sales Reps, like Josh Brigham, use their bikes to get around Uptown while visiting customers. It’s easier to park an OMB Sprinter somewhere out of the way and bike around than drive a block, park, and visit, drive another block, park, and visit. It’s technology meeting eco-friendliness.”
