How to get cheaper airport parking by booking online

I recently used the all-in-one CLT Airport app to book my airport parking and it was easy, convenient and affordable.

I’ve flown in and out of CLT a lot, but until recently had never parked there because I assumed it would be expensive and complicated.

Now, I can’t believe how much money and time I’ve wasted waiting for rides. I paid $34 for overnight parking in the hourly deck, which is 30% less than what I’ve spent on rides to and from the airport.

• Plus, I didn’t have to spend any time waiting for a ride and I got to stop for coffee on the way.

The CLT Airport app lets you book parking spots at discounted rates. You can also scope out dining options near your gate and see estimated TSA wait times.

Here’s how to book airport parking:

1. Download the CLT Airport app or visit parkclt.com
2. Enter the dates and times you’ll need to be parked (remember to give yourself time before and after your flight takes off/lands).
3. Select your parking preference from the list of options available.
4. Fill out the booking details and you’re done.

Here’s how to redeem your reservation at the airport:

1. Pull up to the kiosk at your designated parking facility (hourly, daily, long term, etc.).
2. Do not take a ticket. Instead, scan your parking reservation QR code.
3. Find a parking space (don’t forget to make a note of your level and location).
4. When your trip is done, scan your QR code again at the parking facility exit.

Things to keep in mind:

1. You must book at least six hours in advance.
2. If you return later than expected, you can still use your reservation and there’s a 2-hour grace period (after that, you’re charged for the extra time).
3. You can cancel and modify your booking for free after you’ve made it.
