(1) Krankies Coffee

Address: 211 E. 3 Street
The deal: A small batch coffee roaster and cafe. Along with coffee, they have a full bar and they serve lunch, dinner & brunch on the weekends. I ordered an iced coffee and avocado toast and it didn’t disappoint.

(2) Small Batch Beer Co.

Address: 241 W. 5 Street
The deal: A small batch brewery that also offers a full bar and food menu. I ordered a blueberry pineapple daiquiri and chicken nachos. HIGHLY recommend.

(3) Foothills Brewing – Downtown Brewpub

Address: 638 W. 4 Street
The deal: Even if you’ve never been to Winston-Salem, you’ve probably tried one of Foothills Brewing’s beers. Carolina Blonde anyone? Their downtown brewpub is a great place to hang back, grab a bite and sip on some brews. Their actual brewery and tasting room is just a 15-minute drive from downtown.

(4) The Porch Kitchen + Cantina

Address: 840 Mill Works Street
The deal: Think delicious tex-mex and craft cocktails in a bright, funky setting. On Sundays they offer brunch, featuring pitchers of mimosas and a bloody mary bar.

(5) Camino Bakery

Address: 310B W. 4 Street
The deal: A bakery, coffeehouse and wine bar all rolled up into one. Their menu boasts items like ‘Goat Cheese Cheesecake,’ coconut macaroons, and cinnamon rolls.

(6) The Honey Pot

Address: 285 W. 4 Street
The deal: Southern cuisine in a charming setting. Expect items like Carolina fried catfish and buttermilk fried quail. Their craft cocktails look amazing. I’m ordering the ‘Polka Dot Pirate’ next time.

The deal: A one-of-a-kind retail shop offering unique home décor, art, and other specialty items. Full disclosure: there’s a beer and wine bar inside and you can also play backgammon.

(8) Old Salem Museums & Gardens

Address: 600 S. Main Street
The deal: A step back in time into the 18 century Moravian settlement of Salem. Historic buildings, gardens, artifacts – oh my.  Make sure to stop by Winkler Bakery for some Moravian sugar cake.

(9) Design Archives Emporium

Address: 636 W. 4 Street
The deal: Over a thousand square feet of handmade, vintage items. It’s like Etsy in real life. This place is right beside Foothills Brewing’s brewpub.

(10) The Katharine Brasserie & Bar

Address: 51 E. 4 Street
The deal: French food and craft cocktails in a relaxed setting. The restaurant is named after the wife of Tobacco tycoon, R.J. Reynolds and inspired by their honeymoon in France.
