Carowinds closes two rides after Georgia death

Flashback: Fury 325 was shut down for weeks in the summer of 2023 after a visitor noticed a crack in a support beam.

• It also closed in July after an issue was found in the foundation.

Driving the news: Across the country, Six Flags has closed nine rides at six parks, telling outlets the closures are "out of an abundance of caution."

• A 42-year-old man died when he was ejected from his seat in the accident at Six Flags Over Georgia near Atlanta. Four others were injured.

What we're watching: Six Flags hasn't explained what these rides all have in common or when they could reopen.

• Axios has reached out to Carowinds for comment and will update this story if and when they respond.
