PostScript has quietly become one of Charlotte's standout new restaurants since opening this spring.
Why it matters: The Plaza Shamrock restaurant gives diners another reason to venture beyond the city's best-known restaurant districts.
- Tucked between NoDa and Plaza Midwood, Plaza Shamrock is a small pocket of east Charlotte. The neighborhood is home to old ranch houses, a growing number of large new duplexes replacing single-family lots, Garinger High School and a park or two.
The vibe: Despite its newness, PostScript feels nostalgic.
- Between the handmade plates by chef Dean Orr and the personal design touches by his wife and co-owner Amber Donogue, the restaurant exudes authenticity and personality.
Dig in: The small, seasonal menu includes salads, hearty proteins and a pasta dish or two, with ingredients sourced from local farms.
- Local mixologist Erica Bodiker rotates the cocktail menu monthly, including a zodiac-inspired special.
If you go: On the 21st of each month, PostScript hosts tarot card readings. Reservations are recommended.
