Why it matters: This is a popular stretch of greenway, not just for those who use the trail for exercise, but for those who commute on it as well.
The latest: Atrium is completing wall repairs and grading/erosion improvements near East Morehead, a Mecklenburg County spokesperson tells Axios.
What to expect: Starting today, roughly 0.2 miles of trail will be closed through Aug. 28, according to Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation. The closed section starts after Leon Levine Drive and extends just past East Morehead Street.
There will be a marked detour, which takes greenway users across Leon Levine Drive and north along South Kings Drive.
Once you've crossed over Morehead Street, you're able to hop back on the greenway.
If you're heading south toward Freedom Park, you'll hop back on the greenway off Blythe Boulevard near Leon Levine Drive.
