The new growth report from the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance highlights that the 11-county Charlotte metropolitan statistical area draws 117 new movers every day — more than most of its rival cities.
Why it matters: It's not necessarily a competition to have the most people, but the data does suggest that Charlotte is an attractive place where people would rather live than in other Southern metros.
Caveat: TheDallas-Plano-Irving metro division — one of Charlotte's stiffest competitors, especially for banking — gets 150 movers per day. The impact of that growth is less when you consider its population is twice the size of Charlotte's.
