Popular massage studio Mood House is growing again, with plans for two more Charlotte-area locations and a new CEO to lead the company.
Why it matters: In just over five years, Mood House has gone from a single massage studio in Dilworth into one of Charlotte's best-known wellness brands, underscoring the city's growing demand for health and wellness services.
The latest: The modern massage studio will open two more Charlotte-area locations within the next 18 months and has named Lizzy Sirkin Hill CEO and co-owner alongside founder Cristina Wilson.
- As CEO, Hill, formerly with SouthPark Community Partners and Axios Charlotte, will oversee day-to-day operations and the company's expansion, while Wilson stays on as founder and advisor.
What they're saying: "I've known Lizzy for a decade and she's the perfect executive to lead this growth phase at Mood House," Wilson said in a press release.
- "I've been a Mood House customer from day one and I'm thrilled to take the reins for this growth stage," Hill said.
By the numbers: Mood House has grown 27% year-over-year and recently surpassed 2,250 monthly massage members across its Dilworth and Oakhurst studios, according to Mood House executives.
Catch up quick: Known for its Palm Springs-inspired aesthetic, Mood House opened its first studio in Dilworth in 2021 before expanding to Oakhurst in 2024.
- Wilson also acquired Dilworth day spa Toccare in 2024.
- Both locations offer 50- and 80-minute massages plus infrared sauna services.
What's next: Mood House plans to open one studio in south Charlotte and another in the Lake Norman area. Leases have not yet been signed, and exact locations have not been announced.
- After that, the company plans to expand "aggressively" across the Southeast, Hill said.
