NFL commissioner says Charlotte is "built for a Draft"

What we're watching: The top prize, however, would be hosting the Super Bowl.

• "Ultimately it would be great [for the Panthers] to get into the Super Bowl," Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper said of what success looks like for the organization. "It might be great if we had a Super Bowl here."

The big picture: Charlotte has grown significantly, but the city still lacks hotel rooms.

• The renovated stadium, once complete is "certainly Super Bowl quality," Goodell says.
• "The real issue with Super Bowls now is the number of hotel rooms, quality hotel rooms, and other facilities," Goodell says.

Yes, but: "Every time I come back here, [Charlotte is] completely different than it was when I left it the last time," Goodell says.

The bottom line: If Charlotte's growth continues, Goodell expects a Super Bowl to be somewhere down the line.
