The Design Center of the Carolinas — the popular retail and office destination in South End — has sold for about $170 million from Charlotte-based Asana Partners to Houston-based investment manager Hines.
Why it matters: The nine-building, seven-acre property is home to popular retailers Jeni's Ice Cream, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Patagonia, plus 117,000 square feet of creative office space. It's currently 100% leased.
Hines says no changes are planned at this time.
