Charlotte is gearing up to host the MLS All-Star Game this month at Bank of America Stadium.
Why it matters: This will be Charlotte's first time hosting the annual celebration of soccer. Uptown will be buzzing with events, including the game, performances and a skills competition.
Catch up quick: The game will feature the top MLS players vs. the All-Stars from Mexico's top league, Liga MX.
- Charlotte FC has three All-Stars: midfielders Pep Biel and Ashley Westwood, along with U.S. national team defender Tim Ream.
- Other MLS All-Stars include superstar Lionel Messi and his Inter Miami teammate Rodrigo De Paul. Both played in the World Cup final for Argentina and reportedly will not play the All-Star Game. See the full MLS All-Star Game roster here.

If you go: The MLS All-Star Game is 8pm Wednesday, July 29, at Bank of America Stadium. Tickets start at $56.
- A few thousand tickets were still available for the All-Star Game, Eric Sudol, chief revenue officer at Tepper Sports & Entertainment, told reporters last week.
Here are more MLS All-Star Week festivities:
MLS All-Star Soccer Celebration
Head to Romare Bearden Park from 4 to 10pm Saturday, July 25, and 3 to 8pm Sunday, July 26, for a free fan fest:
- Watch party: Catch the Charlotte FC vs. New York Red Bulls from 6:30 to 8:30pm Saturday.
- Live music: Head to the seventh annual Beats, Cleats and Eats for ice cream floats and a performance by Natasha Bedingfield at 9pm on Saturday.
- Player appearances: MLS legend Landon Donovan will here 5–6:30pm on Saturday, as will Cobi Jones from 4:15 to 7:30pm. Brandt Bronico, a Charlotte FC player and Charlotte 49ers alumnus, will be at the celebration from 4 to 5:30pm Sunday. Westwood will be out on Sunday from 4 to 5pm, Biel will be there from 6 to 7pm and Ream will also stop by on Sunday from 4:30 to 7:15pm.
MLS NEXT All-Star Game
See the next generation of talent compete in the MLS NEXT All-Star Game. The East vs. West game will feature 44 players at the Mecklenburg County Sportsplex at Matthews at 7:30pm Monday.
- The game is free to attend, but you do need a ticket. There will be food trucks, games and appearances from Charlotte FC's homegrown players, Nimfasha Berchimas and Aron John.
Skills challenge
10 All-Stars from both MLS and Liga MX will compete in five different skills challenges on Tuesday at Truist Field at 7:30pm. Tickets start at $18.70.
