Tuckaseegee Arboretum & Gardens' grand opening is today.
What to expect: The celebration is free and open to the public. There will be music, games, food and drinks, plus garden tours from 9am until noon.
Thew new green space is at the City of Charlotte Landscape Management in west Charlotte, which manages and maintains the roughly 3-acre space (the size includes the parking lot).
The arboretum and demonstration garden area houses a pollinator garden, 25+ species of trees and shrubs, along with 35+ species of grasses and perennials in the gardens.
TAG will ultimately offer hands-on workshops, neighborhood meetings and pop-up farmers market, a city spokesperson tells Axios.
Stop by: 701 Tuckaseegee Road. The arboretum is open to the public and free to visit. Hours are Monday-Friday from 7 am until 4pm. Public parking is available on-site.
