We're back with another edition of our Blind Date series. This time, we sent Jackson and Maria to grab drinks at Stylus Soundlounge.
Ready to meet your match this year? Apply here for an upcoming date and send the application to your single friends. It's super easy!
First, let's meet Jackson.

He's 26 and a project manager.
His perfect day in Charlotte? "Wake up and go get coffee at a cute lil spot and check out the street vendors/stores if the weather is nice. Catch one of the Charlotte teams play, then stop by a bar for drinks and to play cards. After, catch a show at Snug Harbor."
Hobbies: Live music, vinyl collections, coffee and cocktails, hiking, any craft and sports.
How he describes himself: "Tallish guitar guy who dresses okay."
His ideal match: Funny, musical, athletic and willing to try new things.
Now, let's get to know Maria.

She's 27 and a sales and event lead.
Her perfect day in Charlotte: "Go to a cutesy coffee shop and visit a few thrift stores, have dinner and cocktails, and then go dancing with friends."
Hobbies: Thrifting, nail art, movies and weightlifting.
What she's saying: "I'm a free spirit who loves to try new things."
She's looking for: "Someone who can make me belly laugh, is fun, handsome and driven."
Their answers were eerily similar — so it only made sense to send them on a date.
- I followed up to see if the connection held up in real life. Here's how it went.
Editor's note: Responses have been edited lightly for length and clarity.
How do you typically meet your dates?
Maria: I've been on dating apps for a few months now, and that's how I've been meeting people in the area.
- In my opinion, the apps are the perfect way to meet emotionally unavailable men, so I've opted for meeting people doing the things I love, like salsa dancing.
Jackson: I used to be in hell (on the apps) for a long time, but decided in 2024 that I was going to start meeting people naturally.
- So I'll meet people at bars, get introduced to friends of friends — maybe slide in a DM if I'm feeling silly.
How would you describe the conversation?
Maria: I felt like the conversation flowed. We talked about everything from work, music, hobbies to red flags, our worst dates and hot dogs, haha.
- It was playful and fun!
Jackson: The conversation was good! A lot of trying to get to know each other, of course.
- It was my first time going on a date and not having any information to go off, so it was a little tricky to figure out where our interests aligned.
- She has great taste in music, so that helped a lot.
How would you describe the chemistry?
Maria: He was easy to talk to, and we ended up talking for about three hours. We also seem to have similar interests.
- I wouldn't say there was an immediate spark, but we were both a little nervous since neither of us had gone on a blind date before.
Jackson: I had a really fun time, and I felt like we got along fairly well, but I'm not sure if there was ✨romance✨.
- It's tough to say that for certain after one interaction, though.
Thoughts on the date overall?
Maria: It was cute! I loved the intimate vibe of Stylus, and the bartender was so attentive.
- However, I was screaming for most of it because the music was loud.
Jackson: Overall, great company and a great little bar!
- We're a little different from each other, which could be seen as a good or a bad thing; just depends on who you ask.
What's next? How did you leave things?
Maria: He got my number, so the ball is in his court.
Jackson: She gave me her number at the end of the night, but I ended up leaving town for a while right afterwards.
- Once I'm back in Charlotte, I might reach out to see if she would be interested in meeting up again!
