Camp North End has a new part-owner. Atlanta-based firm Jamestown has made an undisclosed investment in the campus, according to a news release.
Why it matters: Jamestown, as the new general partner, will lead the next chapter of the 76-acre redeveloped missile plant north of Uptown. Camp North End is still growing, with up to 3.2 million square feet of land entitlements for future development.
Between the lines: ATCO Properties & Management, the owner since 2016, and Shorenstein, which joined in 2018, will remain as partners. Jamestown will retain the existing Camp North End team as employees.
Damon Hemmerdinger, co-president of ATCO, will serve in an advisory role as non-executive chairman of the joint venture. Hemmerdinger says Jamestown brings the "resources, expertise, experience, and creativity needed to advance Camp's vision and position it for lasting success."
The intrigue: Jamestown's portfolio includes other historic adaptive reuse projects like Ponce City Market in Atlanta and Industry City in Brooklyn.
Locally, the company previously owned Birkdale Village and is a joint owner of Optimist Hall.
