Charlotte urbanist development firm Space Craft is creating a pedestrian-only corridor in Optimist Park between the three Joinery buildings.
Driving the news: "Joinery Alley," as it'll be called, should begin coming into focus later this year as businesses like Small Bar and Sharigato open.
The intrigue: The design is inspired by Japanese yokocho streets, where people come first and cars are removed.
What's next: Food trucks, concerts, farmers markets, artist showcases and pop-up events will be programmed for the alley.
