Carolina Theatre to celebrate Black History Month with its Black and Brilliant series

Carolina Theatre will celebrate Black History Month with its inaugural Black and Brilliant series.

What to expect: The series will include six award-winning and live music highlighting the Black experience.

• Opera Carolina's special concert called "Lift Every Voice and Sing" will be Feb. 28 at 8pm.

Each film in the series will be shown at 7pm. Here's the lineup:

• Friday, Feb. 6 — "Shaft" (1971)
• Saturday, Feb. 7 — "Do the Right Thing"
• Friday, Feb. 13 — "Dreamgirls"
• Saturday, Feb. 14 — "Love And Basketball"
• Sunday, Feb. 15 — "The Princess and the Frog"
• Friday, Feb. 20 — "Sinners" (2025)
