Zara's main entrance is dedicated to women's wear and showcases the brand's newest interior design look, according to the team.
Zara will open in SouthPark Mall on Dec. 4 at 10am.
Why it matters: Charlotte residents have been clamoring for the Spanish chain to open a store here for years. This will be Zara's first store in North Carolina.
Between the lines: Zara was expected to debut in Charlotte in 2026, meaning it's opening slightly ahead of schedule.
- The new opening date means the fast-fashion retailer can capitalize on the lucrative in-person holiday shopping season at SouthPark, one of the most popular malls in the Southeast.
What to expect: The two-story, 29,000-square-foot Zara store will be one of the first in the U.S. to include the global brand's new flagship feel, which is intended to be "home-like," according to a spokesperson.
- The Charlotte store will sell clothes for women, men and kids.
- Each room is organized by concepts that reflect different moments of the day. For example, women's elevated collections near the entrance range from office attire to cocktail-ready pieces, plus jewelry to pair with each look.
- Other women's sections include casual and everyday styles, a holiday collection, bohemian/folk (expect lots of denim), a minimal knit-heavy collection and streetwear.
- The men's department is divided into trend and knitwear, casual and contemporary, formalwear and a vintage/rugged-inspired collection.
- The store also features new retail tech, including assisted self-checkout, real-time inventory checks and in-store online order pickup via QR code. New styles will drop twice a week.
Zoom in: Zara's team analyzed Charlotte's shopping habits and found that locals love denim, boots, accessories — and plaid. You'll see plenty of all of that throughout the store.
The layout:
- Ground floor: Women's and men's sections, plus checkout and a smaller fitting room.
- Second floor: Kidswear, more women's (nighttime and streetwear), online pick-up, additional checkout and 22 fitting rooms.
If you go: The SouthPark store is next to Belk in the space formerly occupied by Gap and J.Crew. The mall's main entrance, by the Cheesecake Factory and Maggiano's Little Italy, will be your fastest way to get to the store.
- Hours are Monday-Saturday 10am-9pm and Sunday 11am-7pm (typically noon-6pm, but hours will be extended through the holidays).
- SouthPark Mall is at 4400 Sharon Road.
