A new wellness destination called Pause will open in the Arboretum on Saturday, Jan. 10, offering a full menu of wellness and recovery services, from contrast therapy to float tanks.
Why it matters: Charlotte's wellness scene is expanding with more luxury studios and social wellness clubs — but most center on one or two specialties. Pause packs multiple recovery services under one roof.
What to expect: A modern, high-end facility offering a range of services, from float therapy, infrared saunas and cold plunges to cryotherapy, IV drips, LED light therapy and compression therapy.
- Services are available à la carte, in bundles, or through memberships and are open for booking.
- Visitors can also purchase a $153 discovery package, available through Jan. 10, which includes a float therapy session, a 60-minute contrast experience, cryotherapy, an LED light bed session and a vitamin shot of choice — all in one visit or spread out over multiple visits.
- The studio will also offer 20% off intro packages and founding memberships during its first month.
Zoom in: Services like Cryotherapy, LED light therapy and vitamin shots are $45 each. A 60-minute contrast therapy session in a private sauna and cold plunge suite is $95. Flotation therapy is $75.
- Services can also be purchased in bundles of three. Pricing on monthly memberships is still being finalized.
Zoom out: Pause opened its first studio in Venice Beach in 2018 — it now has 17 locations in eight states.
- The Arboretum studio is locally owned by Katie and Keith Fox.
- Another Pause will open soon under separate ownership in South End at 124 E. Kingston Ave., in the retail space of the Kingston South End apartments.
Stop by: The Arboretum location's hours will be 8am to 9pm Monday-Saturday and 9am-7pm Sunday.
- Find Pause at 7915 Providence Road.
We got a sneak peek at the facility and tried a couple of services ahead of its opening. Here's a look around and more on what you can expect during a visit.
