Mazali brings Uzbek flavors to west Charlotte

Mazali, an authentic Uzbek restaurant inside City Kitch West, is moving to the front-of-house space inside the ghost kitchen.

Why it matters: It will replace DŌZO, the popular Japanese food counter that's leveling up to a full-service restaurant in Dilworth this fall.

Dig in: Mazali is known for its plov, hand-pulled lagman noodles and char-grilled shashlik skewers.

• "This move allows us to create not only a meal, but a true cultural experience," said owner Rashshad Pirmatov in a statement.

What's next: The new 12-seat restaurant opens Nov. 3 at 2200 Thrift Road.
