Halloween train rides at the N.C. Transportation Museum

The N.C. Transportation Museum is hosting a Halloween-themed train ride this month.

What to expect: Hayrides, games, temporary tattoos, music, candy and train rides, of course.

If you go: The Halloween Train event happens Oct. 18, 19 and 25 with costume contests each day.

• The museum is at 1 Samuel Spencer Dr., in Spencer, N.C., about an hour north of Charlotte
• Combination ticket prices range from $18.50-$22.75, kids under three get in free.
