Kids Fest returns to University City Oct. 4

The Charlotte Kids Fest returns to University City Saturday, Oct. 4, from 11am-4pm.

What to expect: Hands-on activities in the form of themed "zones" for kids, plus live performances, food trucks and vendors.

Here is what you'll find in each zone:

• The Create Zone: Hands-on crafts and workshops.
• The Discover Zone: Interactive live performances.
• The Play Zone: Outdoor games, sports and friendly competitions.
• The Go Zone: Kids can get up close and personal to big construction and emergency vehicles.

If you go: Kids Fest is free and takes place at the Shoppes at University Place.

• Parking can be found at the JW Clay light rail station on 9325 JW Clay Blvd.
