Foxcroft Wine Co. is getting a new name and a few new additions.
Why it matters: One of Charlotte's most popular wine bars, the local brand wants its new name, Foxcroft Food & Wine, to better reflect what it has been for nearly two decades: a full-service restaurant as much as a wine destination, its owner tells Axios.
Flashback: Foxcroft opened in 2004 in Charlotte's Foxcroft East Shopping Center in SouthPark as a boutique wine shop.
- By 2006, it had evolved into a full-service restaurant.
- Today, it has six locations across the Carolinas: SouthPark (flagship), Dilworth, Birkdale Village, Waverly, Greenville, S.C., and, most recently, Raleigh.
What they're saying: "Many newcomers who stopped in for a bottle of wine were surprised to discover any food menu, much less one so extensive," said founder and CEO Conrad Hunter in a press release.
The vibe: Known for its upscale-but-unpretentious atmosphere, it's the kind of place you can hang out in jeans or dress up for a celebration.
Dig in: Its menu features modern American fare, with standouts including house-made pastas and daily-baked bread, alongside burgers, salads, flatbreads, and shareable options like charcuterie and truffle fries.
- Wine remains central to Foxcroft's identity, with 40-plus options by the glass, its popular wine flights, and hundreds (or thousands, depending on the location) of bottles to choose from.

What's next: Guests will start to see changes roll out in the coming months, including:
- Weekend brunch at the Birkdale and Raleigh locations.
- An expanded patio at Dilworth, slated for early 2026.
- An updated food menu by chef Stephanie Klos, Foxcroft's culinary director, though it's not yet clear what those updates will be.
- A new cocktail program created with Charlotte speakeasy and Foxcroft's sister concept, Dot Dot Dot, will include batch cocktails, spritzes, and barrel-aged whiskey drinks.
- Updated signage and branding at all six locations.
- The company says it's looking to continue its expansion with more locations in 2026.
