All eyes will turn toward University City tonight as the Charlotte 49ers take on the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Why it matters: Not only is it Charlotte's home opener, but it's also legendary coach Bill Belichick's first away game with the Tar Heels. Demand to see if the Belichick experiment will succeed is high.
The intrigue: Both teams are looking for their first win of the season. Charlotte (0-1) lost 34-11 to Appalachian State and North Carolina (0-1) lost 48-14 to TCU.
Zoom in: Roughly 2,400 additional seats have been added at Jerry Richardson Stadium to meet the ticket demand. Seated capacity will be about 17,700.
If you go: The game kicks off at 7pm and will air on ESPN+. Tickets start at $94 on the school's ticketing website and are going for as high as $493 on the secondary market.
Country music star and former 49ers baseball player Chris Lane will perform a pre-game show at 5pm on the Hauser Alumni Pavilion lawn (8931 Cameron Blvd.) The show starts at 4pm with Niner alum Austin McNeill and is included in your game ticket.
There will also be a tailgate next to the show at the Hauser Alumni Pavilion from 4-6:30pm. Tailgate ticket details can be found here.
