Around the Crown 10K returns Sunday to Charlotte

The Around the Crown 10K returns tomorrow, Aug. 31, to Uptown.

Why it matters: The race will bring thousands of runners and significantly impact traffic around Uptown.

What to expect: Runners on I-277 inner lanes. Those lanes, and S. Mint Street will be closed to traffic from 2:30am–12pm, per a press release.

Additional Uptown streets will be closed to traffic from 7-9am, including:

• West Palmer Street at South Church Street
• South Church Street at West Morehead Street
• South Church Street at West Good Samaritan Way
• West 11th Street at North Church Street
• North Church Street at West 9th Street
• North Church Street at West 6th Street
• North Graham Street at West 6th Street
• West 5th Street at North Irwin Avenue
• Johnson and Wales Way at West 4th Street
• West 4th Street at South Graham Street

If you go: The race kicks off at 7:30am, starting and finishing at Truist Field (324 S Mint St.). Runners must be in corrals by 7:20am.
