In his two-page resignation letter, Allen echoed those claims, alleging a toxic work culture, harassment and bullying.
"There is no amount of money worth the mental and verbal abuse," Allen wrote.
What he's saying: "I want to reassure our staff and community that the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) remains strong and committed to its mission," McFadden said in a statement.
