A candy shop called Life is Sweet will open Aug. 13 at Camp North End.
Why it matters: The new candy shop adds to Camp North End's family-friendly offerings, from the ice cream shop Seemingly Overzealous to Hardy Boys Records & Comics.
Zoom in: Longtime entrepreneur Tracy Gunn, who opened the first Life is Sweet about 20 years ago in New Hampshire, moved to Charlotte to be closer to her grandchildren, according to a press release from Camp North End.
Gunn, who's also opened other Life is Sweet shops in McAdenville and Lake Wylie, said Charlotte lacked candy shops, so she saw an opportunity.
The new store will offer bulk candy, chocolates, retro treats and gifts.
What they're saying: "Camp North End has just the community vibe I've been looking for — it's vibrant, and it's filled with people who care," Gunn said.
📍 Find the new Life is Sweet at 701 Keswick Avenue (Suite 104). It'll operate Tuesday through Saturday from 12–9pm and Sunday from 12–5pm.
What's next: Gunn is also eyeing locations in South End and Plaza Midwood.
