Anti-Trump protest planned in Charlotte

Protestors will take to the streets nationwide on June 14 in what organizers expect will be the largest single-day anti-President Trump rally since the start of the administration.
Why it matters: The widespread movement will run counter to Trump's multimillion-dollar military parade in D.C.
- More than 100 pro-democracy advocacy groups are partnering to organize the "No Kings" events.
Zoom in: Several organizations — including Indivisible Charlotte, Action NC, Charlotte Metrolina Labor Council and Drum Strong — will hold a "Naked Emperor Rally and March" in First Ward Park on Saturday, starting at 11am.
- More than 2,800 people have registered for this event as of Tuesday, organizers tell Axios.
What they're saying: "We are ready to stand together and tell the Trump regime that we have No Kings in America and that we see through the attempts to consolidate unconstitutional power in the executive branch," Rachelle Salo, Indivisible Charlotte mobilization director, tells Axios.
The other side: Trump on Tuesday said that any protests during Saturday's parade in D.C. would be met with "very big force."
