New series highlights NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt

It's a massive weekend for NASCAR with the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway and the release of a documentary about the legendary Dale Earnhardt Sr.
Why it matters: The Earnhardt family is racing royalty with deep Kannapolis ties and "Earnhardt" introduces a new generation of fans to a racing icon.
What to expect: "Earnhardt" is a four-part docuseries out now on Prime Video.
- But you don't need to be a NASCAR fan to enjoy the series. Earnhardt Jr. felt enough time had passed that people close to his dad would be comfortable sharing things they'd previously kept private.
What they're saying: "He could walk in this room right here and we'd all feel it," Earnhardt Jr. said during a panel discussion after the premiere Thursday at Camp North End.
