Bechtler Museum of Modern Art will introduce a new program this spring called "Charlotte Art on Prescription" where healthcare providers can prescribe free arts access to help people connect.
How it works: Novant Health professionals can prescribe one year of free arts access, including museum programs, performances at partner organizations, and art-making classes.
You must attend initial meetings at the Bechtler Museum.
What they're saying: "This innovative program represents a new frontier in addressing social determinants of health through cultural engagement," Sid Fletcher, senior vice president and president of Novant Health's Charlotte region, said in a statement.
What's next: The museum will use participant surveys to measure the program's impact, per a release.
