New speakeasy now open inside Statesville distillery

Southern Distilling Company in Statesville, about 45 minutes north of Uptown, recently opened a speakeasy inside its distillery.

What to expect: A "nod to the Prohibition era with vintage décor and a cozy vibe," according to a statement from Southern Distilling Co.

• Plus, signature cocktails made with their Southern Star bourbon and ryes.

Stop by: 211 Jennings Road, Statesville.

• Open Monday-Thursday 10am-6pm, Friday-Saturday 10am-8pm and Sunday noon-5pm.
