Charlotte Sports Foundation has named Will Pitts CEO, effective April 1.
Why it matters: Pitts will be at the helm of an organization whose eventsgenerate millions for Charlotte's economy.
CSF's five events in 2023 had an economic impact of $79.7 million, according to CSF and Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority data.
Zoom in: Danny Morrison, who has served as CEO since 2019, will transition to an executive advisory role.
Pitts currently serves as CSF's chief operating officer. He has been managing CSF events for the last 15 years.
What he's saying: "As someone who grew up in Charlotte and has been working on CSF's events for most of my career, I am unbelievably excited to be named CEO," Pitts said in a statement.
