Affording a home in Charlotte now takes an income of around $107,183 a year, according to a recent Redfin report.
In 2013, the necessary income was $37,573.
Zoom out: Buying a median-priced U.S. home now demands an income of roughly $117,000 a year.
That marks a new high in data going back to 2012 and is $33,000 more than the median household income in the U.S., which is around $84,000, per Redfin's analysis.
