Last Minute Club is a new online service that connects procrastinators to local businesses — from same-day massage bookings to salon appointments and everything in between.
Why it matters: Last Minute Club caters to local businesses needing to fill those last-minute appointment slots. It also cuts out the middleman (such as Google) and connects users to vetted Charlotte businesses for free.
What they're saying: "My schedule is sort of erratic so I don't usually schedule self-care or aesthetic appointments in advance," founder Corri Smith tells Axios, adding that she created this business for herself and others like her.
How it works: Local businesses apply to be featured on LMC and pay a subscription fee of $35 per month.
- The LMC team will vet and approve applications based on their online reviews, digital and community presence, and proximity to Charlotte.
- Once businesses are approved, they can start tagging LMC on Instagram stories with their last-minute appointment availability and LMC will repost on their account.
- For a limited time, LMC is offering a free first month. Business owners can cancel whenever they want.
- "With Last Minute Club, users can check the Instagram page and see all the best openings in one place," Smith says.
Between the lines: Smith is also the owner of local marketing and PR agency Black Wednesday. She regularly coaches local businesses about the importance of branding, Google reviews and first impressions.
- "A byproduct of this is that we get to help businesses better market themselves," Smith says. "We're teaching people how to get Google reviews, how to better use social media tools to serve them and how to better brand themselves."
Zoom in: LMC already has 15 businesses signed up, including Mood House, Toccare Day Spa, Pearl Dentistry, Plumped, Bohemian Stylehouse, The Dog Salon and Nature's Spa.
