What to know about the Duke's Mayo Bowl in Charlotte

By the numbers: CSF's 2023 events generated $79.7 million in local economic impact, per CSF and Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority data. The bowl game accounted for $17.5 million.

State of play: Virginia Tech takes on Minnesota Friday night at Bank of America Stadium in this year's Duke's Mayo Bowl.

If you go: The game kicks off at 7:30pm and will air on ESPN. Gates open at 6pm. Tickets start at $67.70.

• Today, Jan. 2, fan central starts at 7pm in Truist Plaza (214 N Tryon St.). The pep rally will include the schools' marching bands, cheerleaders, plus live music.
• On Friday, fan fest starts at 1pm outside the stadium along Mint Street, Graham Street and Brooklyn Village Avenue. There will be live music, food and drinks, a kids zone and tons of mayo.

Between the lines: Expect pricey parking and traffic in Uptown. The CityLYNX Gold Line Streetcar and the Lynx Blue Line both have stops within walking distance from Bank of America Stadium.

• The Gold Line runs east and west and is currently free to ride. Charlotte Gateway Station and the Mint Street stops on the Gold Line are about half a mile from the stadium.
• The Blue Line runs north and south from UNC Charlotte to I-485. Weekly unlimited rides cost $30.80 ($2.20 for adult oneway fare and $1.10 for kids). Brooklyn Village Station in Uptown is roughly half a mile from the stadium and Carson Station in South End is just over half a mile away.
