"Coined in the South," a juried biennial exhibition, opens Dec. 14 at Mint Museum Uptown and runs through April 27.
What to expect: The exhibit, a collaboration between the museum and the Young Affiliates of the Mint, features works by 49 artists from across the Southeast — from Maryland to Texas.
By the numbers: Nearly 1,500 works were submitted, per Jonathan Stuhlman, Mint Museum senior curator of American Art and managing curator for the exhibit.
Museum admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors (age 65 and up) and free for children age 4 and younger, students in grades K-12 and college art students with ID.
