Charlotte saw snowfall for the first time in years

Snow fell in Charlotte early Tuesday morning. If you were up early or late enough, you might have seen it falling from the sky or its remnants on the ground, roofs or cars.
Why it matters: Charlotte hadn't seen snow since 2022 and last night's dusting doesn't really count, according to meteorologists.
Context: While snowflakes fell from the sky, they didn't amount to enough to be measured, meaning Charlotte's snow drought continues, according to WBTV chief meteorologist Al Conklin.
- "The streak for 'measurable snow' holds," Conklin posted. "1,039 days and counting!"
- The last measurable snowfall in Charlotte was 0.2 inches on Jan. 29, 2022.
What they're saying: "If it didn't accumulate, it didn't happen. Perhaps a technicality, but that's how we operate in the world of weather."
