The nonprofit Do Greater Charlotte last week began construction on its Creative Lab Uptown at 500 North Tryon, which once housed the offices of former Charlotte Mayor Harvey Gantt's architectural firm, Gantt Huberman.
The three-story, 20,000-square-foot space is intended to foster opportunity for students, young professionals and entrepreneurs, according to a statement from the nonprofit. Wells Fargo donated $750,000 to the project, securing naming rights for the second-floor lab.
Bank of America plans to open 165 branches across 63 markets by the end of 2026. This is part of the Charlotte-based bank's previously disclosed plans, which also include expanding into nine new markets. (CBJ)
