Armada Skate Shop will sell skateboards, longboards and roller skates at new Camp North End store

What to expect: Armada Skate Shop will sell skateboards, longboards and roller skates, plus shoes, clothing and accessories both from popular brands and in-house exclusives.

• Local artists will lead board painting workshops and there will be workshops for kids who want to learn how to skateboard.
• There will also be a professional repair station.

The vibe: The shop will be decorated with automotive-themed art and murals.

Stop by: Armada Skate Shop will open daily at 701 Keswick Ave., next to Hardy Boy Records. It will be open Wednesday and Thursday from 11am-7pm, Friday and Saturday from 12-8pm and Sunday from 12-5pm.

The big picture: There's a growing interest in skateboarding in Charlotte; earlier this summer, APB skatepark opened in west Charlotte and Nonprofit Charlotte Skate Foundation is currently building a skatepark in Kilborne Park in east Charlotte.

What's next: Armada Skate Shop joins a slew of new tenants coming soon to Camp North End including Blasian Asian Way food stall, Gravity Sourdough Pizza Co. and Thrift Pony.
