Lowes Foods, a Carolinas-based grocer headquartered in Winston-Salem, will open its newest Charlotte-area store in Concord on Thursday, Aug. 29 at 8am, according to a statement from the grocer.
Between the lines: The 50,000-square-foot store will anchor the Christenbury Village development at 2415 Herrons Nest Place NW.
It will feature all the trappings of a typical full-service supermarket, from a bakery to a full frozen food department, along with grab-and-go coffee and beer and a made-to-order meals section, CBJ reported.
Context: Founded in 1954, Lowes Foods has 85 locations throughout the Carolinas and Georgia, per CBJ.
The grocer had scaled back its presence in Charlotte to focus on markets outside the city. But it operates local stores in Harrisburg, Mooresville and Huntersville, which opened a few years ago.
