Zoom in: Organizers describe it as "the world's largest traveling car show."
The event is also a contest for custom car builders who compete to have their cars turned into a toy car.
How it works: A group of local car enthusiasts and members of the Hot Wheels design team vote for the car that will compete in the global semifinals later this year.
The cars are judged on authenticity, creativity and garage spirit. Extra points if it's evident the owner put in "early mornings, late nights, grit, and determination into the project," a press release reads.
What to expect: The family-friendly event will have more than 100 unique cars and activities for all ages.
