March means PGA Tour golf is around the corner in Charlotte.

Why it matters: Thousands of people flock to Quail Hollow Club in south Charlotte in early May for the Wells Fargo Championship. It's the place to see and be seen, attracting golf fans, celebrities and casual fans alike.

The tournament is a major boost for the city, with an estimated economic impact of $75 million annually, per tournament organizers.

Catch up quick: This is the final year it will be called the Wells Fargo Championship. Wells Fargo announced last December it would not continue its title sponsorship of the annual golf event.

If you go: The Wells Fargo Championship runs May 6-12 at Quail Hollow Club in south Charlotte. There are plenty of changes to look out for.

Golf fans will notice an additional 30 yards to the length of the 16th hole. You'll also see a nearly 2,000-square-foot video board.
