The People's Market will open a location in Myers Park this summer.
Why it matters: By the end of the year, the popular all-day cafe and bar will have three Charlotte locations, including this one, the one in Elizabeth and another in Lower South End.
The space: The new 6,000-square-foot Myers Park market will have a similar vibe to its Elizabeth location.
- It'll have indoor and outdoor seating, including a covered outdoor patio.
The menu: Expect similar offerings as its other location, too, including a deli, coffee bar, handmade pastries prepared daily onsite, craft cocktails and wine by the glass.
- Menu items specific to this location are also in the works, according to a press release.
Details: The People's Market Myers Park will open at 2820 Selwyn Ave., in the former Mellow Mushroom spot.
- It'll be open seven days a week.
What they're saying: "Ongoing expansion is part of our business model, and this location closely matches our brand's mission to be a family-friendly, community gathering place to eat, work, and play," owner Cory Duran said in the statement.
Flashback: Duran first opened People's Market on East Boulevard in Dilworth in 2017. When Duran closed the shop in 2020, customers mourned the loss of the beloved spot, and Duran vowed to eventually recreate its "magic."
- He opened the Elizabeth location in the former Earl's Grocery in 2022.
What's next: The People's Market will open at The Station at LoSo this spring, we previously reported.
